Overall best ive used...closer to real skin than cheaper products I've tried.
I'm new to tattooing and Skinz has been the top recommendation from everyone I've talked with.
I tried out a couple different brands. One was super oily and others were super hard.
Skinz felt the most natural.
These are great to practice. Much better than other brands. That have a slight elasticity and a more natural texture than others the pen works so much better on these!
Ive tried LOADS of different practice skins and these are by far the best and most life like. Definitely now my fave for practice
Had a bit of trouble finding the best way to clean them but the Ben Fisher video cleared that up!
Very high quality fake skins, saw a drastic improvement on my techniques and overall quality of finished art. Highly recommend especially for new artists; you'll see the difference !!
I have just started tattooing, but I have bought every skin you can get, even pig skin. Hoping it would help me to improve my skills. This is the best I have ever used. I have tried the most expensive brand and this is much better quality and price. It is thick and pliable, very realistic. Don’t waste your money on other brands. I only wish it wasn’t sold out when I go to order more! I love it.
Great experience so far!! They are super stretchy and take ink very well. This is my first time using skinz, I had been using fake skins off of Amazon for a couple months and I can honestly say they were a waste of time after using these. I would definitely recommend trying these out!! 👍😎
Huge fan of these skinz! Beginner tattooist myself and still learning, but I love how well these take ink and feel very close to real skin. 10/10 would recommend for anyone wanting to practice and increase their skill
Great to work with nice ink absorbing. However, the sheets aren't all the same thickness i had some come at 3.2mm and others as thin as 1.8mm thick. Thats the only issue i had, apart from this they are a great product
Love these mats!!! Best to have ever used
With a little rub of Vaseline over the finished design you can wipe the ink excess off with ease and get a lovely looking mat as shown
I just started teaching myself to tattoo for about a month now, as far as fake skins goes, Skinz is by far the best one I have practiced on. I like the the texture, the softness, it really takes the stencil well and it also takes the ink very well. It’s a little harder to clean but I feel like it’s okay because of the way it feels and takes the ink and stencil. I hope to purchase some of these in the future.
The skin took lines very well. The biggest problem I had was with it being on the thinner side and with grey wash it was hard to tell the difference between one drop of black and the rest of the cap shading solution ,and straight black.
The skinz feel great to tattoo on. Theres no disputing that. However; they get very dirty and stained after a while. And this is the biggest drawback as it can (and often does) ruin hours of work/practice.
I find that if you wipe too often, the skin quality gets compromised, causing permanent ink staining/smudging. Furthermore, because the skin loses its quality over time, shading techniques don’t work/take as well.
From my pictures, you’ll notice the outlining went well and stippling started off smoothly. But more shading equals more wiping. And more wiping equals loss of quality.
I would suggest only small practice designs and a lighter grey for practicing. They simply can’t cope with heavy blacks and long hour pieces.
By far the best practice skin I have used that actually holds the ink. No struggle to get the colours in like other brands that just don’t come close or cut the grade
These are so much better than the cheaper skins on Amazon. Skinz are much more realistic, take stencils well, take and hold ink very well (sometimes maybe a little to well LoL) but it is great. Thickness is perfect. It gives you everything you need to practice all you need to. You couldn't ask for a better practice skin. The only thing I wish was a little different would be a little more thickness and textured on both sides. The smooth slide makes it a little more see through and different taking a stencil.
Absolutely love these tattoo practice skins. The quality is amazing and they take the ink so well, which makes such a difference when you’re practising. I’ve found tattooing on these much easier and more realistic compared to cheaper skins I’ve used. The lines go in clean, the ink sits beautifully, and they’re great for practising different techniques. Definitely worth it and I’ll be ordering more!
BTW This is my 7 week progress!
